There have been several new faces out at the team practices the last couple weeks, which is very exciting! We welcome all the new families. Now's the time to come out and start training to set yourself up for success come race season.
To recap what we've said in the past:
- Registration in the PitZone and email list - It's important that all of our student athletes and regular adult volunteers are registered in the PitZone. This ensures that we are insured and provides the coaching staff with the information needed to take care of the team in case of emergency. If you haven't done this yet, please contact the coaches as soon as possible.
- Practice schedule - Regular rides every week are posted on the team calendar, and the main team ride is every Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Honeybee Canyon Park Trailhead. Individual ride announcements will go out via the email list.
- Rider expectations - As a member of OVMTB, we expect student athletes (and their families) to act with integrity and be courteous, respectful, intelligent trail users that give everyone they meet an outstanding impression of mountain bikers and the cycling community.
- Fundraising - We are still actively looking for sponsors to help pay for race entry fees and team uniforms for the student athletes. Recently, we've added Bruce Unger (All-State) and Royal Buick to the sponsor list. Thank you! If you have a business or know of other businesses that might be interested in sponsorship opportunities, please contact the coaches as soon as possible.
That's all for now. Stay hydrated, and watch your inbox for ride announcements.
