OVMTB has completed a very successful 2016 race season! A few weeks back, we raced in the State Championship at White Tank Mountain Regional Park, and the whole team performed well with almost everybody moving up in the standings. Our girls had a special treat, getting to meet and talk with Chloe Woodruff, the local pro MTB racer that competed in the Olympics for Team USA this year.

Just before Thanksgiving we celebrated with an end-of season party at the BMX park. Thank you to sponsor Mama's Pizza for the delicious family-size party pizzas! It was good to stretch out the legs and do some fun short skill riding instead of the usual 1+ hour sufferfest that is a cross country race. We also took this time to recognize our outstanding seniors: Caiden Plummer, Jacob Benzenhoefer, and George Sypa. These three set a great example for all of our student athletes and were true competitors all 4 years.
End of Season Laps at Xtreme Fun Spot BMX Park
Entering the off-season, most of us will continue to ride for fun or competitively. If you want to get more involved, check out the following groups.
- Team OVB - cross-country race team that competes in the state MBAA series throughout the spring.
- SDMB - local IMBA chapter dedicated to building, riding, and protecting our local mountain bike trails.
- TORCA - more downhill-oriented trail build, maintenance, and advocacy group.
- Check Facebook for social ride groups like Old Pueblo MTB, Tucson MTB Addicts, Our MTB Rides, 50 Year Trail Stewardship, etc.

Stay tuned to the email list for upcoming rides, races, and volunteer opportunities. We encourage all of our riders, for example, to check out one of SDMB's trail build days (Dec 17, Starr Pass) or TORCA's brushing days (Dec 11, 50 Year).
